I’m reaching out to everyone who has supported me in my child protection and community lobbying work over the years to ask you to get involved with my campaign as an Independent Senate Candidate in Queensland in the upcoming federal election.
Our family law system has consistently failed to protect children from sexual assault and violence and, despite 22 years of knocking on the doors of parliament, our politicians have not made our children safer.
Now I need your help to bring these issues to the forefront of public debate, and right into the halls and conscience of Canberra – everyday.
There are many ways you can support the campaign, from helping out at polling booths, following and sharing on social media, to distributing bumper stickers or by making a donation.
Please check out my website and sign up to volunteer or see the practical ways you can support my campaign to reclaim our democracy, make all children in our country safer and keep our party politics honest. If you’d like to get involved I could certainly use your help.
Nominate me for Senate!
Before I can run for Senate, I need your nomination. Nominating is easy. Just head to https://www.hettyjohnston.com.au/nominations/ and fill out the nomination form.
Remember, to be accepted by the Australian Electoral Commission, nominators must be registered to vote in Queensland with their details listed exactly as they appear on the electoral roll. If in doubt, you can check your enrollment at https://check.aec.gov.au/ or by calling 13 23 26.
Once the election is called, expect a call from the AEC as they’ll need to check the authenticity of your nomination.
